One amazing thing about being a maternity and newborn photographer is witnessing and capturing couples growing into parents. And I know that the road to motherhood, the road to delivering a healthy baby, is not an easy one. And for many, it is beyond challenging.

This past December I had the honor of photographing Baby Penelope at her home in Chino Hills, CA. This long-awaited little miracle made this at-home newborn session so special. I first met Tina and Barry during their maternity session. From that moment I could see that they were meant to always be together. However, their journey to parenthood was fraught with delays and heartache. “I prayed more than I’ve ever prayed before,” says Tina. And that moment in time felt like it was too much to endure. But holding their most beautiful gift for the first time made all their hardships worth it.

So let me share a few of my favorites from our session together. And it’s totally okay to feel your heart grow a little when I bring Baby Penelope into the spotlight.
